The HOA schedules free paper shredding and a donation drop for Sunday, October 4, from 2–5 p.m. in the Southern Highlands Corporate Center parking lot at 11411 Southern Highlands Parkway. The timing begins when the Sunday yard sale ends.
Shredding is limited to two boxes per resident. Paper clips, alligator clips, and hanging folders with small metal hangers may remain, but the organizer says not to bring three-ring binders, other large metal items, cardboard boxes, or plastic bags. Gently used donations support Opportunity Village, and tax receipts are available on request.

The Southern Highlands Fall Festival is set for October 17.
The HOA's 2026 event page lists the Southern Highlands Fall Festival for Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at Goett Family Park, 10950 Southern Highlands Parkway. The organizer names a pumpkin patch, inflatable games and slides, rock climbing, face painting, BINGO, food trucks, a raffle, and live stage entertainment.
The event page says proceeds benefit the Southern Highlands Boys & Girls Club. This is an advance-planning date rather than an event in the October 1–7 issue window; confirm the organizer's page closer to October 17 for any operating change.

Spaghetty Western's official site currently lists its Southern Highlands restaurant at 10690 Southern Highlands Parkway and publishes 12–9 p.m. hours seven days a week. The business lists 702-834-4611 as its direct number and offers dine-in, pickup, delivery, and takeout information on the same site.

Somerset Hills' published water-spray season ended with September.
The official Somerset Hills Park page identifies May through September as the operating season for its water-spray area. October 1 therefore falls outside that published window; do not plan an October park visit around the spray feature.
The same park page continues to list tennis courts, gazebos with barbecues, a playground, walking path, and on-street parking. Those amenities make the park useful beyond splash season, subject to posted conditions and any reservation already in place.

A community-wide event still works differently from one village to the next.
The yard-sale page separates confirmed gated communities from ungated neighborhoods where participation may vary. It also says residents of gated sub-associations need their management company or board to approve participation and arrange gate access, while residents in neighborhoods without a sub-association use the master HOA's participation process.
That is a useful picture of Southern Highlands more broadly: the master-planned community is connected, but governance and day-to-day procedures can differ by address. What if a prior owner made an exterior change without HOA approval?
The HOA says the current owner should make sure the association has the necessary architectural paperwork on file, even when the landscape, pool, paint, or other installation predates the purchase. Its FAQ describes those historical approvals as important to a smooth future resale.
The association says it tries to inspect properties before a sale, identify missing approvals, and notify the seller, but that process is not a substitute for checking your own file.
