This week
Friday's HOA movie starts earlier than the September 11 show.
How to Train Your Dragon (2025) is scheduled for Friday, September 25, at Goett Family Park, 10950 Southern Highlands Parkway. The Southern Highlands HOA lists picnicking and food trucks at 6 p.m. and showtime at 6:30 p.m.; the film's published runtime is 2 hours 5 minutes.
Bring seating suitable for the lawn. The organizer specifically suggests blankets, coolers, and lawn chairs. Parking at Goett Family Park is limited, so the HOA recommends walking or biking when practical and identifies the Boys & Girls Club for overflow parking.
The HOA calendar separately lists the event from 6:30–8:30 p.m. That end time is five minutes shorter than the movie's published runtime, so this issue does not promise a precise finish. Check the organizer page again before leaving for any weather or operating change.

The October 3–4 yard-sale list is now specific enough to plan.
The HOA lists the fall community yard sale for Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, from 7 a.m.–2 p.m. Its dedicated page names confirmed gated communities and separately lists ungated communities where participation may vary. A community participation map is scheduled to appear October 1, so buyers should wait for that organizer map rather than treating every street as a sale location.
Residents in neighborhoods without a sub-association can use the HOA participation form. A gated sub-association must approve participation and arrange gate access; the organizer says golf-course gated communities cannot participate. Limited signs and banners are available through the HOA's request forms.
After Sunday's sale, free paper shredding and a donation drop run from 2–5 p.m. at the Southern Highlands Corporate Center, 11411 Southern Highlands Parkway. Shredding is limited to two boxes per resident; the HOA says not to bring binders, cardboard boxes, or plastic bags. Opportunity Village is the named donation recipient.

Le Café du Sud publishes one simple schedule: 7 a.m.–3 p.m. daily.
Le Café du Vegas' official site currently lists its Southern Highlands café, Le Café du Sud, at 11350 Southern Highlands Parkway, Suite 155. The business publishes daily hours of 7 a.m.–3 p.m. and a direct phone number of 702-686-5666.
The same page says weekday preorders can be arranged for 7–8 a.m. pickup, while its online ordering service is listed as available from 8 a.m.–2:30 p.m. This is a current operating-information check, not a claim of a new opening or special. Confirm directly before making a time-sensitive trip.

September is the last published month for Somerset Hills water play.
The official Somerset Hills Park page describes May through September as the operating season for its water-spray area, making September 24–30 the final week in the published seasonal window. It does not guarantee same-day operation, so check posted conditions before promising water play.
The park at 10717 Valencia Hills Street also lists tennis courts, gazebos with barbecues, a playground, walking path, and on-street parking. The HOA's broader parks page continues to publish summer hours of 6 a.m.–9 p.m.; use the posted sign at the park if it differs.

Yard-sale access is a quick lesson in how neighborhood governance differs.
Southern Highlands does not have one identical operating structure for every village. The HOA's current directory identifies some neighborhoods with their own management company and others with no sub-association. For the yard sale, that distinction determines whether a resident can submit directly to the master association or needs a gated sub-association's approval and gate plan.
The same address-level check matters beyond events. Before buying, selling, or planning an exterior project, identify both the master association and any sub-association that applies to the property. Community-wide summaries cannot substitute for the current documents and management contacts tied to one address.
Check the official sub-association directory ↗Ownership question
Can I put a yard-sale sign on a median or community wall?
No. The HOA's FAQ says garage- and yard-sale signs may not be placed in public or common areas, including street signs, medians, walls, or gates. It allows signs on private property or outside association boundaries and says approved signs are available through the association.
A sub-association may impose additional restrictions. Sellers should confirm the applicable neighborhood rules and use the event page's sign-request process rather than improvising directional signs. This summarizes the published HOA guidance; it is not approval for a particular sign or location.

Make Friday's movie the main plan and keep Sunday morning local.
Our editorial pick for September 25–27 is Friday's movie because it is the only dated Southern Highlands HOA event in this issue window. Recheck the organizer page, pack lawn seating, and leave extra time for the limited-parking setup.
For a quieter Sunday, pair breakfast or coffee at Le Café du Sud with Somerset Hills Park while the water-spray feature remains within its published September season. Verify café hours before leaving and treat the seasonal park listing as a planning lead—not a live operating guarantee.

No verified Southern Highlands sales snapshot this issue.
We did not find a date-stamped public source that disclosed both a precise Southern Highlands closed-sales geography and the number of transactions in its sample. This issue therefore publishes no median price, sales count, days-on-market figure, or market-direction claim.
Active listings, an undefined ZIP-code figure, or a valley-wide headline would answer different questions and will not be presented as a neighborhood sales result.
